Empowering Families equips Cumberland County caregivers and families with practical, dignity-centered strategies to manage mental health and disability support at home. Designed for parents, adults, older adults, and support networks working with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health needs, this course blends real-world guidance with Unity Home Care’s community-focused approach. By the end, participants will be able to recognize common mental health triggers, build clear home routines and communication supports, coordinate care with professionals, and prepare for safe, responsive day-to-day support—so families feel more confident, supported, and connected to compassionate services.
